The Thermacore Collection is built for exactly that problem, keeping outside air out of your garage. Thermacore’s steel construction performs like insulation should, not just steel with a foam sticker.

Every Thermacore door uses the same build: a continuous layer of foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation sandwiched between two layers of corrosion-resistant steel, with thermal breaks between sections that hold an air infiltration rating as low as 0.08 cfm. This is independently verified and not just a marketing number. From there, the three Thermacore models are built for different needs:

Model 5760 — Best for Northwest Ohio winters. With 2″ door thickness and an R-value of 17.5, this is the model built for the coldest days and harshest wind. They are available with wind load options and backed by a Limited Lifetime warranty. Model 5740 — Most popular, most flexible. This option has an R-value of 12.76 with the widest range of panel styles, colors, and window options, including our Artisan Wood Grain finishes. This model comes with a Limited Lifetime warranty and is the right fit for most homeowners who want strong performance without giving up design choice. Model 5720 — Best value. At the most accessible price point in the collection, this model has an R-value of 9.31 in a 1″ door that still delivers real thermal performance and a quieter garage, all backed by a 20-year limited warranty. What’s the difference between the Thermacore Collection and the Thermacore Wind Load Collection?

Both collections share Thermacore’s core insulation technology, but they’re built for different wind requirements. The standard Thermacore Collection (Models 5760, 5740, 5720) offers optional wind load ratings on the 5760 and 5740 for homes that need added protection. The Thermacore Wind Load Collection (Series 5745 and 5765) is purpose-built for high wind-speed regions and hurricane-force conditions, meeting stricter local building codes as standard. If your home is in an area with specific wind-load code requirements, our team can confirm which series applies to your address before you order.
